The Gibsons Steps is based on the seascapes right next door to the 12 Apostles, Girai Wurrung Country/Great Ocean Road, Victoria, Australia.

A year ago I released the 12 Apostles series with the thought to include the Gibsons Steps as they’re right next door to one another.  As the series grew I knew they deserved their own seperate series.  This is the result.  From angles taken from along the Great Ocean Walk as well as the beach, there’s a full variety of perspectives.  Inspiration for no. 3, 5 and 7 have all been taken by Josh Beames.

There’s a bit of a twist in the colour palette compared to the 12 Apostles series.  You’ll mainly see this in the water.  Going from a deeper mineral blue to a brighter aqua and turquoise.  There’s also the addition of more earthier tones which I feel work well against the water, with the odd pop of magenta, coral and dusty pink.
