Description
Teddys Lookout no. 4 – Original Artwork by Lauren Danger. Created in August 2022. It is the 4th of the “Teddys Lookout” series.
Teddys Lookout No. 4 and the rest of the series is inspired by this popular lookout high above Lorne and the St. George River in Gadubanud Country. It’s a must see as you travel along the Great Ocean Road.
This series involved a lot of colour exploration and from that, there is slight differences in each original in this series. Something that came from altering my colour palette in previous series was the addition of lilac/purple. Right from the start I felt that I wanted to use a lot more cooler blues/greens. Being surrounded by dense rainforest, I felt all the artworks have this in mind. After creating Teddy’s Lookout no 1, I reintroduced some more variety into the colour palette, revisiting my usual palette with rich transparent ochres and more coral pinks. Teddy’s Lookout no 4 was me really pushing the colour boundaries with the vegetation as well as creating a smaller original for variety.
The view for Teddys Lookout no. 4 comes from just below the lookout on the side of the walking trail. You can see the original photo in the gallery.
Teddy’s Lookout no. 4 has a mix of teal, cobalt blue, aqua blue, lilac, sand, magenta, coral pink, dusty pink, pale orange, deep purple, yellow/green, green/gold, burnt umber, transparent ochre, and olive green.
