Description
Torquay / Rocky Point no. 6 – Original Artwork by Lauren Danger. Created in July 2024
Taken from the perspective of walking up to the point itself, this artwork had been started almost 2 years ago as a part of the Rocky Point Series. It was painted to a point of having had water and sky, I wasn’t sure how I wanted to express the cliff face. The texture of rocky point is a lot more rough and weathered then some other locations around the Surf Coast. The erosion looks like the soil and clay are like water flowing. Because of this I thought I’d leave the artwork and come back to it when I knew how I wanted to capture this in my painting style. Photo in gallery credit to Linda Gorfol
While playing within my abstract techniques I felt I wanted to give a more painterly technique a try. I changed the time of day to a sunrise and worked with burgundy, pinks to finish of the artwork. I love how she turned out and proves that every artwork has it’s own perfect timing.
Torquay/Rocky Point no. 6 has been created on a custom made stretched canvas ready to hang and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. This artwork has been framed in a float frame made of raw oak. You can find out all about the details of my originals here.
