Loch Ard Gorge No. 1 – Original Artwork by Lauren Danger. Created in October 2023. It is the 1st of the “Loch Ard Gorge” series.
Loch Ard Gorge No. 1 comes straight from the imagination with its unique purple cliffs. Purple shades are making more and more of an appearance in my palette in my last few series. When you arrive at Loch Ard, standing on the cliffs above, the limestone wraps around in front of you. It feels cool and cave like and I felt purple was a great way of expressing this. I matched it with a lot of burnt umber in the foreground, giving the painting an overall wintery feel. She’s so different from the other artworks in the series and that’s what I love about it the most. My way of finding a new perspective on this iconic shoreline.
Inspired by Girai Wurrung Country, Loch Ard Gorge, Great Ocean Road near to the 12 Apostles and Port Campbell, Victoria, Australia.
Loch Ard Gorge No. 1 shows an array of colours from, aqua blues, grey/blue, teal, grey, grey/green, olive green, different shades of purple and magenta.
This artwork has been created on a custom made stretched canvas ready to hang and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. This artwork has been framed in a float frame made of raw oak. You can find out all about the details of my originals here.
